So......everyone know how trendy lash extensions have become the biggest hit over the last couple of years. For poor sad lashes like mine, it was awesome to not have to use a curler or a million coats of mascara.
I literally have never bought the same mascara more than twice because I'm always on the hunt for the latest and greatest. My fav stands as Urban decays curling mascara. Now I'm getting off point! ..... What's not trendy? The price of lash extensions. The ever so amazing blog called The Beauty Department, posted an amazing tutorial on trio lashes. You can cut your own from a strip or buy the actual trios. you can customize them by trimming what you want and dont want off a strip. The are much easier than applying individual or strip lashes and offer a natural pop. They are only temporary but great if you want to up your look without the drama of falsies. Here's the link!!!!

Backyard beauty

This lovely lady, Jaimie is getting married in her own backyard! She isn't used to wearing makeup and has a simple Midsummer Nights Dream wedding color palette. I evened her near perfect and porcelain skin in Aveda's beechwood tinted moisturizer and set with their mineral loose powder. Normally i don't recommend makeup that has SPF in it because it doesn't work well with flash photography, but a lot of photographers end up using Lightroom instead of flash since its used mainly at night and used in a more outdated style of photography. Next, Aveda has great blush/bronzer trios that are everyday user friendly and really natural. also used the twilight trio palette on her lids with Aura in the crease. Her gorgeous lips were perfected with their lip gloss, Coral. We tried a simple false strip lash instead of mascara to keep it natural. She loved it! Her hair was done in a loosely pinned side swept up-do, to let her stunning one shouldered wedding gown steal the show. Can't wait to doll her up on her big day in just three weeks!!

I had the honor of working for Alicia Tullio for her beautiful nuptials as the Faulkner winery in Temecula.
Alicia is a natural beauty and very low key with her daily makeup. She had the most adorable freckles, whih her hisband loves so we wanted to let those shine theough. We kept her look soft and light and went with Stila's amazing liquid hd foundation. Her gorgeous big brown eyes we accented in Urban Decays Smog. And we gave her a slight winged liner and topped her with a taupe pink lip. Muah!

I absolutely swooned over Jessica Chastain's Oscar style! Her champagne sweetheart neckline, silhouette snug dress made me weak in the knees. Her soft deep side part is easily achieved by curling with a 3/4 ing curling iron, parting at the end of the brow you prefer to part on and brushing your curls out with a soft paddle brush. Spray and coax the wave in the direction you'd like. Her simple yet classic approach to makeup is flawless and let's her own beauty shine through!! Swoon!!!

I had the honor of dolling up my very own best friend for her college graduation ceremony. Every once and a while a makeup artist is blessed with a canvas that has to die for eyes and that is the case here. No matter what color is used, her eyes always pop. On this day we used urban decays naked palette's Smog mixed with midnight cowboy, one of Urbans all time favorites. Along with a classic winged liner. We paired it with coral cheeks and a peach gloss to let her new platinum hair and eyes steal the show!

I know it's a long time coming but I really love leggings. I have a small waist and big top so I always felt like I could never get away with them but I have realized that when paired with the right shirt and shoes they look good on almost everyone! Why have I been missing out this whole time? These are my latest faves and I get stopped about ten times errrrry time I wear them!

I had the pleasure of dolling up a friend of my mom's. Mature makeup is always a little bit more challenging as more makeup tends to age us as we grow older. Cat already has a great look and gorgeous eyes. I wanted to accentuate her natural and beautiful features but make her feel fun and sexy as well without over doing it. Mission: Accomplished! <3

Intimate Rustic Ceremony

I finally got some photos back from a bride i did who was absolutely stunning. A makeup artists dream is to get a beautiful bride with flawless skin. And she is a total doll to boot!! Kerah and her husband Stephen opted for a very small and intimate ceremony with a rustic burned down house as their backdrop in the middle of the woods! And their little pooch was the ring bearer! We did a natural brown and blush smoky eye on kerah with peach cheeks and a glossy pout. For her hair we curled and teased with Aveda's Control Force. Kerahs hair has texture but is fine and doesnt hold curl for very long. We gave her a vintage pouf and accented it with a blush rose that matched her dress. Congratulations Kerah and Stephen!

Their proceeds raise money to educate and raise awareness about the truth in the world of the American Pit Bull Terrier and breeds alike. On saturday we rocked the photoshoot with Scott Saw of Vixen Photography to shoot Betties and Bullies 2013 Rock-A-Bully pinup calendar. We got to doll up a ton of hotties for this!! Prep + Prime

Seems like everyone is constantly on the search for the best eye primer. While a lot of ladies swear by Urban Decays eyeshadow primer potion, my favorite by far is mac's prep + prime. It has an amazing consistency that works well for both dry and oily skin. For oily skin, a creamy primer still means a rubbed off look at the end of a crazy work day or night out. This primer fills in all the fine lines and is flesh colored so it masks any redness, veins or hyper pigmentation. I am personally so oily that i have to wear waterproof mascara and eyeliner. This stuff ROCKS!!!

Bridal makeup is so hard because it has to look like the bride, yet be flawless for pictures. Today i had the pleasure of dolling up cristen. Who is set to wed in september. She is an au natural cutie and doesnt usually wear makeup which made it a challenge for me. I did choose a hint of orange to accent her insanely gorgeous blue eyes. They are stunning! We also did a french braid pulled into a looped and pinned off to the side updo.

Summer is short so a lot of us don't have time between daytime and night time fun. Grab some surf spray and apply from roots to ends. Flip your hair upside down and fluff. Flip back and braid it tight. Roll into a bun and pin. Urban Decays setting spray is a great way to keep your dry or shiny face looking supple with or without makeup. Carrying a waterproof liner and a 2 and 1 cheek and lip stain are great items to keep in your purse to glam up in the car before a night out. Need more pop? A bright lip shade always glams it up. When your ready for night time pull out your braid and scrunch your beachy texture minus the frizz!
